Whiskey Run Creek Vineyard & Winery opened in Fall of 2002 under the guidance and direction of Robert (Bob) Curttright. When Bob was searching for the ideal location to open a winery, he learned of a parcel of land on the western edge of Brownville that was once home to one of the first breweries in the state of Nebraska and determined this was the ideal location for the winery. The south cave built in 1866 for storing beer barrels was restored. It was determined by geological survey that another of the original brewery caves from the 1800’s still exists, but we haven’t explored it yet. The barn that spans the Whiskey Run Creek also adds more rustic charm to the winery considering it is over 100 years-old. The barn was not originally located in its current location, but rather it was relocated from a farmstead south of Auburn (NE) to its current location over the creek.
