Southard Winery is a small, family owned and operated winery located a few miles north of Selah, Washington. We produce Riesling from our estate vineyard as well as wines made from Rhone cultivars grown on the Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley, and Wahluke Slope AVAs.
It’s a small jaunt from downtown Yakima to Southard Winery but definitely worth the outing. Southard Winery is a small family owned and operated winery tucked in the vineyard north of Selah Washington. In 2012 the wines caught the attention of Wine Enthusiast’s wine writer Paul Gregutt who anointed Southard as his “winery of the year” for its amazing wines. Enjoy the Riesling from the estate vineyard and the zinfandel, syrah, and a sassy red blend made with grenache and syrah. Noteworthy for their elegance, finesse, balance and depth, they have gone from strength to strength. This small winery flies under the radar. A short drive to this quaint family run operation is worth the time.
